Last week we were cleaning out a storage closet and I discovered my newspaper collection. I was 5 years old when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. And we just happened to be in Houston, TX at the time, site of NASA Mission Control. And so my dad saved for me the full page full color front page of the Houston newspaper that announced this historic event. So ever since then I have saved newspaper headlines from historic days.

Congratulations to my friends in this year’s Confirmation class. Kensley, Erin, Jason and Quinn – it give me great joy to see what God is doing in your life – completing what he started. I’m so thankful for your faith and trust in God’s promises.
But I have to tell you something. In order for you to be sitting here today – getting your faith in Christ confirmed – a rule had to be broken.
